PUR Coating & Lamination Machine

The PUR Coating & Lamination Machine adopts a gravure roll quantitative coating structure, specially designed for continuous PUR reactive hot melt adhesive coating and material lamination. Different from conventional blade coating, it uses micro-cells on the gravure roll to control glue volume. The coating layer is thin and uniform. After coating, PUR adhesive cross-links and cures when exposed to moisture in the air. Laminated finished materials feature high bonding strength, temperature resistance and water resistance.

The machine is equipped with a glue tank temperature control system, servo feeding, tension control and web guiding units. It supports continuous lamination of non-woven fabric, PE film, paper, flexible packaging films and other roll materials.

丨Key Functions

  • Quantitative coating by gravure roll: Replaceable gravure rolls with different mesh sizes to precisely adjust coating weight. Ultra-light thin coating is available to reduce PUR glue consumption and production cost. Stable coating without glue break or accumulation.
  • Constant temperature PUR glue supply system: Sealed glue tank with heating & heat preservation to isolate moisture and prevent premature curing and roll blockage. Independent temperature control with real-time monitoring and alarm.
  • Servo drive & full-range tension control: Servo motors for unwinding, coating, laminating and rewinding. Sliding tension adjustment avoids stretching and deformation of thin substrates.
  • Automatic web guiding system: Photoelectric web guide to correct web deviation continuously for neat finished rolls.
  • Continuous lamination & cooling setting: Immediate pressing after coating. Cooling roller accelerates PUR curing to produce bubble-free and wrinkle-free laminates.
  • HMI operation panel: One-click parameter storage. Visual setting of speed, coating weight and temperature for quick recipe switching.
  • Safety protection: Safety guards, emergency stop button and overheat protection.

丨Applicable Materials

  • Non-woven fabric + PE breathable film
  • Non-woven to non-woven lamination (hygiene fabric)
  • Paper, label paper, cardboard
  • BOPP, PET and other flexible packaging films
  • Foam, textiles and elastic rolls

丨Application Industries

  • Hygiene materials: Baby diaper backsheet, underpad, medical non-woven lamination. Thin glue layer maintains good breathability with strong bonding.
  • Packaging: Flexible packaging, label, paper-card lamination.
  • Medical materials: Medical dressing, breathable tape substrate lamination.
  • Automotive interior: Non-woven & foam interior bonding.
  • Home textile & filtration materials: Fabric and filter media lamination.

丨Advantages

  • Grooved roller process saves much glue consumption. Lower PUR cost compared with blade coating.
  • PUR reactive adhesive lamination: finished laminate is washable, heat-resistant with long-lasting bonding. No delamination caused by aging, unlike ordinary EVA hot melt adhesive.
  • Customizable coating width and adjustable line speed, suitable for small-batch to mass continuous production.
  • Modular design for easy maintenance. Fast gravure roll replacement to switch products quickly.
  • Compatible with various roll materials, multi-purpose machine to improve production line utilization.

丨FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between gravure roll coating and slot die coating?

A1: Gravure roll coating uses engraved micro-cells on the roller to transfer glue onto the substrate. Slot die coating extrudes glue directly through a narrow die slot onto the web.

Q2: What coating weight range can your gravure PUR machine reach?

A2: Coating weight is determined by gravure roll cell pattern & cell volume. Normally it ranges from 2~25 g/㎡ for PUR lamination. We can customize gravure rolls (hexagonal /conical/cylindrical /spherical cells) to match your target gram weight.

Q3: What materials can this PUR coating laminator process?

A3: It works for nonwoven fabric, PE breathable film, PET/BOPP film, paper, foam and elastic roll materials. Widely used in hygiene, medical, packaging and automotive interior lamination.

Q4: Why does PUR adhesive block the gravure roll? How to prevent it?

A4: PUR is moisture reactive hot melt adhesive. It will cure once contacting moisture. We equip sealed constant-temperature glue supply system to isolate moisture. Proper temperature setting and regular roll cleaning can avoid clogging.

Q5: Can we quickly switch between different coating products?

A5: Yes. Gravure roll can be quickly disassembled and replaced. The HMI saves production recipes. You can adjust speed, temperature and coating weight parameters in one click.

Q6: What’s the maximum working width of the machine? Is customization available?

A6: Standard width 1600mm (as shown on photo). Custom working width is available according to customer requirements.

Q7: Does the machine have tension control and web guiding system?

A7: Yes. Full servo drive with closed-loop tension control and automatic web guiding system. It keeps thin substrate from stretching and ensures neat finished rolls.

Q8: What after-sales service do you provide?

A8: We provide machine installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts supply and remote technical support.
